Protect What Matters Most
Working smoke detectors save lives. Studies show that a working smoke detector can cut the risk of dying in a home fire by half. Liberty Fire District is committed to keeping our community safe, and we are proud to partner with the American Red Cross Northwest Florida Chapter to bring free smoke detectors to families in need.
What We Offer
Through this partnership, Liberty Fire District volunteers—alongside Red Cross team members—will:
- Provide and install free smoke detectors in qualifying single-family residences.
- Test and replace the batteries in existing smoke detectors to ensure they are working properly.
- Educate homeowners on proper smoke detector maintenance and testing.
- Share life-saving fire safety and escape planning tips.
Who Qualifies
This program is available for:
- Single-family residential homes within the Liberty Fire District service area.
- Homes that meet the eligibility criteria established by the American Red Cross.
- Residents who are physically unable to install or maintain a smoke alarm themselves.
